The BE (Broadening Education) Partnership for Sawston and Linton was formed in 2003 to safeguard community education across the two Village Colleges in the light of diminishing funding both nationally and at county level. The Partnership embodies and endorses the philosophy of the founder of the Village Colleges, Henry Morris, whose vision was of colleges at the heart of the community they serve, enhancing and enriching the lives of their members through the provision of a vibrant programme of educational and leisure opportunities from ‘the cradle to the grave’. The programme of activities across the area is led by the Managers for Adult Community Learning, Youth Work and, in partnership with South Cambridgeshire District Council, the Arts; the Partnership also supports Youth and Arts activities in Fulbourn. | ||
